A Midsummer’s Dream is one of Canada’s biggest Colour Festivals, inspired by the Hindu Festival of Colours called “Holi”. Celebrating unity, peace, happiness and joy, it is inspired from the Holi Festival of Colours in India, a Hindu festival that celebrates the renewal of spring and the triumph of good over evil. 

This year, A Midsummer's Dream Color Festival will be on August 20, 2016 at Gage Park in Hamilton.

Arts of August is a free, city-wide initiative of artistic expression, dedication and humanitarianism by Hamilton youth (13 to 25) and their children, inspired by the Anti-Racism Initiative of Living Rock Ministries in 2003. Youth present themes of peace, equality, love and culture and are encouraged to see themselves as global citizens.

The Festival of Friends is an outdoor music, art, and crafts festival in Hamilton. It has been produced annually since 1976. Admission to the Festival has always been – and will always remain – free to everyone.

The festical aims to enrich the quality of life by promoting and celebrating all aspects of cultural life; to support artists and cultural groups through  programs accessible to all people within Greater Hamilton and beyond.

This year the festival will be from August 05-07, 2016 at the Ancaster Fairgrounds.

The keynote speaker, Nikki Clarke, will share her own expereinces as the founder of several successful busiensses and provide key insights from the workshops she teaches about setting up a business and promoting it effectively.

On Saturday July 23rd starting at 3pm Councillor Terry Whitehead is hosting a free event at Buchanan Park. There will be bouncy castles, climbing wall, exotic animals, obstacle course, games, food, and refreshments. At 9pm there will be a movie in the park. Remember to bring your chairs and blankets for the movie in the park!
